ALEX TAKE A COMFORTABLE VICTORY

CREWE Alexandra turned on the style as they beat Liverpool U-21’s 5-1 at the Mornflake Stadium in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy Northern Group E on Tuesday night.

The Alex opened the scoring in the third minute with a goal from Roberts before Liverpool struck back as Corness scored a penalty on 10 minutes.

Crewe got back in front again with a brace from Long with goals on 30 and 43 minutes to give the railwaymen a 3-1 half-time lead.

Further goals from Cooney who slotted home from the penalty spot on 51 minutes and Thibaut on 74 minutes sealed a comfortable victory.
