Celebrate RHS’s 60th Anniversary at Congleton Park

Congleton Park will play host to a special celebration on Sunday 7 July from 12pm to 4pm, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Britain in Bloom competition. This exciting event, organised by Congleton in Bloom, Congleton Lions, and Friends of Congleton Park, promises a day filled with fun, community spirit, and horticultural delight.
The celebration comes just ahead of an important date for Congleton. On 14 August, the RHS in Bloom judges will visit Congleton as it represents the North West region in the North West in Bloom finals. Congleton is competing in the Large Town category, Large Park category, and 14 In Your Neighbourhoods.
Over the past two decades, Congleton has achieved remarkable success in regional and national RHS in Bloom competitions, earning over 20 gold medals. The park itself has been recognised with multiple awards, including the prestigious Green Flag and Heritage Flag, as well as numerous RHS in Bloom accolades for its exceptional floral displays.
The town’s impressive Victorian park, complete with children’s play area, ancient woodland paths, river walks, ornamental gardens, bowling green, just bee garden, bandstand, chatty benches, toilets, and pavilion café is just a five-minute walk from the town centre! The park is owned by Cheshire East Council and maintained by the Town Council’s Streetscape team to ensure it looks blooming marvellous all year round.
