Charity gears up for summer fun in great British outdoors

Fun-filled summer of wild events planned by Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, including two different ‘playdays.’

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is thrilled to share an exciting line-up of summer events across Staffordshire this August. Events include woodland wildlife explorations, pond-dipping adventures, forest crafts and nature walks. There's something for everyone to enjoy.

Through these activities families can connect with nature, encouraging young and old alike to explore the great outdoors and have fun.

Highlights include the two Playdays at the Trust’s headquarters The Wolseley Centre. Adventure Playday is on Wednesday 7 August, and caters for those who love an adrenalin rush. Activities on offer include family favourites such as the outdoor obstacle course, grass sledging, and water slide. A Nature Playday is planned for Wednesday 14 August, offering pond dipping, sweep netting, making bird feeders and seed bombs and special poetry workshops with poet Daniel Thompson.

Both days are full of activities, outdoor fun, and games from 10am to 4pm. There’s also a special offer on family tickets – both can be booked for £40, saving over £10 on two family days out. This can be booked on Eventbrite here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/two-day-family-ticket-playdays-at-the-wolseley-centre-tickets-935568650017?aff=oddtdtcreator

Wilder Communities Officer for Staffordshire Wildlife Trust, Vicky Broad says,

"Research from The Wildlife Trusts shows how crucial it is for children’s development and physical wellbeing to play outside. Regular time in nature boosts their brainpower and emotional wellbeing. Getting children to explore and have fun in the great outdoors helps them grow up happier and healthier, while also building a lasting love for the environment."

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust invites families to join in the fun and create unforgettable summer memories.
