Cheadle road junction scheme set to begin next week
Work to create two junctions on roads in Cheadle to provide access to a new housing development begins this Monday, July 12. They will be built on Oakamoor Road and Churchill Road, with the scheme set to last for six weeks. The work is being funded by the developer. Work will include widening the pavements and creating new uncontrolled pedestrian crossing points on both roads. For work to take place safely, temporary traffic signals will be in operation for four weeks on Oakamoor Road and two weeks on Churchill Road. Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for highways and transport David Williams said: “This developer scheme will run for six weeks and there will be traffic management in place on both roads while the junctions are built. “All residents nearby have been informed but we’d like to remind people travelling in the area at the time to allow additional time for their journeys and thank them for their patience while work is carried out.”
