Congleton Park Hosts Blooming Marvellous Community Event

Congleton Park will host a special celebration this Sunday 7 July from 12pm to 4pm, to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) Britain in Bloom competition. This free event, organised by Congleton in Bloom, Congleton Lions, and Friends of Congleton Park, promises a memorable day brimming with fun and community celebration.

We have an array of wonderful activities planned to celebrate RHS in Bloom's 60th birthday. It’s a fantastic opportunity to recognise the excellent achievements of Congleton’s green-fingered volunteers in the stunning surroundings of the town’s beautiful park. We hope to see as many people as possible for a day of family-friendly fun and community pride.”

“Enjoy highlights such as free family activities, garden displays, community stalls, mini workshops, and children's activities. Bring a picnic or purchase tasty refreshments from Stocks at The Pavilion. Don’t miss the Lions Youth Brass Band’s exceptional performance from 1pm to 3pm at the bandstand.”

This celebration comes just ahead of an important date for Congleton. On 14 August, RHS in Bloom judges will visit Congleton, representing the North West region in the North West in Bloom finals. Congleton is competing in the Large Town category, Large Park category, and 14 In Your Neighbourhoods.

Over the past two decades, Congleton has achieved remarkable success in regional and national RHS in Bloom competitions, earning over 20 gold medals. The park itself has been recognised with multiple awards, including the prestigious Green Flag and Heritage Flag, as well as numerous RHS in Bloom accolades for its exceptional floral displays.
