EMIRATES F.A. CUP & NPL WEST DIVISION ROUND-UP

KIDSGROVE Athletic are out of the Emirates F.A. Cup at the first qualifying round stage as they lost out to Barwell 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Kirby Road Sports Ground.

 

Athletic were a goal down after just 4 minutes as Deen Master opened the scoring for the home side and they doubled their lead on the stroke on half-time as Leroy Lita netted. Victory for Barwell was sealed in the 84th minute as Ethan Hill made it 3-0. Attendance: 162.

 

LEEK Town are through to the second qualifying round of the Emirates F.A. Cup with a 2-0 win over Ashby Ivanhoe at Harrison Park.

 

Goals from Tim Grice on 41 minutes and then Alex Hurst on 76 minutes sealed victory for the Staffordshire Moorlands side. Attendance: 384.

 

NEWCASTLE Town came from behind to book their place in the second qualifying round of the Emirates F.A. Cup with a 2-1 victory over Long Eaton United at the Red Industries Stadium.

 

Long Eaton took the lead on 23 minutes as Evan Garnett netting for the visitors but Newcastle were back level just three minutes later with Thomas Jones scoring on 26 minutes.

 

Town scored early in the second half as Jake Avery netted on 47 minutes to give Newcastle victory. Attendance: 126

 

MACCLESFIELD booked their place in the second qualifying round of the Emirates F.A. Cup with a 3-0 at Tadcaster Albion.

 

With the score 0-0 at half-time the Silkmen scored all three goals in the second half as Paul Dawson scored a hat-trick with goals in the 46th minute, 58 minutes and on 84 minutes to comfortably see the Cheshire side home. Attendance: 480

 

HANLEY Town suffered a 2-1 defeat to new Northern Premier League West Division leaders Trafford at the Away Day Care Shawe View Stadium.

 

Town took the lead on 21 minutes with Joel Stair giving Hanley the lead but the home side then equalised on 38 minutes as Brad Byrne levelled the scores.

 

The winner came on 56 minutes as Jerome Wright netted to give the home side all three points. Attendance 417.

 

CONGLETON Town slipped to fourth place in the table after losing to Runcorn Linnetts 1-0 at the APEC Taxis Stadium.

 

Runcorn got the goal on 76 minutes as Luke Wall netted giving the home side victory. Attendance: 564.
