Final Town Tidy before RHS Judges arrive

On 14 August, Congleton will welcome RHS in Bloom judges as the town competes to represent the North West region in the North West in Bloom finals. Congleton is striving for gold awards in the Large Town and Large Park categories, along with recognition for 14 entries in the In Your Neighbourhoods category.

The judging tour will kick off at Astbury Mere and conclude at Congleton Park, with judges visiting several key horticultural sites throughout the town. This whirlwind tour is a significant moment in Congleton's bid to showcase its horticultural excellence and community pride.

In anticipation of the judges’ visit, Congleton in Bloom is calling on the community for one final push to ensure the town is in perfect condition. Councillor David Brown, Chair of Congleton in Bloom is urging residents to participate in the last town tidy, saying: “The town is looking absolutely fantastic, but we want to make sure every detail is flawless. We’re inviting as many volunteers as possible to join us in sprucing up the town centre. Whether it's litter picking, weeding, or cleaning, your help could make the difference in securing another Gold. Let’s come together and show the judges how blooming marvellous Congleton is.”

The town tidy event will take place on Tuesday 13 August at the Community Garden on Lawton Street from 6pm to 8pm. Volunteers are advised to wear appropriate clothing and footwear. All necessary equipment, including Hi-Viz vests, litter pickers, sacks, and gloves, will be provided.
