Firefighters spend 11 hours tackling Congleton Grass fire
Firefighters in Cheshire have spent 11 hours battling flames at the cloud in Congleton.
Firefighters were called at 02:25 on Monday morning to a large grass fire at The Cloud in Congleton. Crews worked to prevent the fire from spreading and used hose reels and tools to fight the flames. Nearby residents were asked to keep windows and doors closed to prevent smoke from entering their homes.
Crews worked to dampen the flames throughout the day and finished dealing with the incident at 13:00 on Monday.
The area had been thoroughly checked. The fire is believed to have started accidentally.
