GOODWIN SIGNS FOR ALSAGER

ALSAGER Town have announced defender RYAN GOODWIN as their first signing as he returns to the club to join the journey at Wood Park.

Goodwin, predominantly a central defender had a previous stint here at Wood Park for three seasons before leaving in 2019 when he joined Stone Old Alleynians, where he remained until this summer. But after conversations with the new management team, we are pleased to welcome him back!

A local lad who has a wealth of experience - with a great deal of that at Step 5 - will bring a calming influence on and off the field as the re-build continues. On returning to the club, Ryan had this to say:

“I'm really looking forward to rejoining the Bullets for the upcoming season. It’s been great to come back to the club and see familiar faces, that make the club so welcoming. Luke, Ducky and the rest of the coaches have got a really exciting project going on and I'm looking forward to playing a part in it. Hopefully we can have a really successful season and get the club back to where it belongs. Up the Bullets.”

Luke Goddard is delighted with the first signing of the new era saying, “I'm really pleased that Ryan has agreed to come back to Wood Park. He's local, knows the club and league, is highly experienced in this league and the one above and so is a perfect fit to what we wish to build around this year. Coming into this project we need to have the right characters and mentality throughout the team, and Ryan is a top player in his position and also a great human being who has already had a positive impact on everyone in the opening few weeks. We look forward to working together and seeing what excitement we can build over the coming season.”

We hope to announce more new faces that have signed forms for 2024/25 over the coming days, ahead of our first pre-season friendly this Saturday at home to Congleton Town.
