Leek and Macclesfield pharmacies inside sainsburys set to close

Loyds pharmacies inside Sainsbury’s are set to close.

Pharmacies inside Sainsbury’s which are operated by Loyds are set to be closed which includes Leek and Macclesfield.

In Leek the pharmacy inside sainsburys is the only one that operates late nights and on Sundays.

Staff redundancies puts jobs at risk with over two thousand at risk nationally.

No time scale is currently available for the closures

Kevin Birch, chief executive officer of Lloyds Pharmacy said

"This decision has not been an easy one and we understand that our patients and customers may have questions about how the change will affect them.

"We would like to thank them for their continued support and assure them that we are committed to providing a smooth transition over the coming months."
