LOCAL SIDES EMIRATES F.A. CUP ROUND-UP
LOCAL sides kicked off their season with the Emirates F.A. Cup Extra Preliminary round on Saturday afternoon.
Milton United lost out at the first hurdle to Ascot united at the Ascot Racecourse with the goal coming in the third minute scored by Anas Igozouln giving the home side victory in front of 229 supporters.
Congleton Town also went out of the competition against Bury at the Cleric Stadium.
Tanaka Cherera scored a hat-trick for the visitors (38, 57, 65) with Reuben Jerome scored on 72 minutes.
The Bears did get on the score sheet with Max McCarthy netting on 59 minutes and Darren Chadwick scoring on 74 minutes as Congleton lost out 2-4. Attendance 731.
Newcastle Town travelled to Evesham United at the Spiers & Hartwell Jubilee Stadium and opened the scoring on 31 minutes with a goal from Thomas Jones, the home side then equalised ten minutes later as Ethan Nolan drew Evesham level by the break to make it 1-1 meaning the two sides will replay at the Red Industries Stadium on Tuesday night.
Hanley Town will also face a replay after a 1-1 draw with Boldmere St Michaels at Potteries Park.
Liam Murphy put the visitors in front on the hour mark but Hanley equalised on 67 minutes to force a replay. Attendance 190.
Kidsgrove Athletic booked their place in the next round with a 2-0 victory over Pershore Town.
Athletic opened the scoring on 3 minutes as Kingsley Adu-Gyamfi put them in front and Aaron Bott doubled their lead on 23 minutes to secure victory. Attendance 192.
Nantwich Town exited the competition after a 2-1 defeat to Sheffield at the MEPS international Home of Football Stadium.
The South Yorkshire side scored on 28 minutes with a goal from Luke Mangham to give the home side the lead at half-time.
Nantwich equalised on 57 minutes as Byron Harrison netted to level the scores, but Luke Aldrich scored the winner for Sheffield on 76 minutes to send the home side through. Attendance 318.
