Officers close problem property following closure order

We have acted on concerns from the community and secured a closure order at a property in Stoke-on-Trent.

People have been reporting persistent drug use and ongoing issues with anti-social behaviour and weapons at an address on Evans Street, Burslem recently.

Local officers have been continuing to work proactively to tackle the issues that matter most to people and have since secured a three-month closure order at the property, which will last until 31 August 2024.

It means that people can't go inside until then, other than the Landlord, emergency service workers and professionals.

Anybody not adhering to the order will be dealt with in accordance with the powers that this order gives.

Inspector Victoria Ison, from the Stoke North local policing team, said: “We will continue to take action against those who are the bane of local communities and cause persistent problems across Stoke on Trent.

“We need people to tell us what they’re concerned about and report instances of anti-social behaviour to make sure we can take the appropriate action and tackle the problems that affect residents and businesses the most.”
