Rudyard lake welcomes new trip boat
The Rudyard Lake trust and the Rudyard lake league of friends have today (26/6/21) launched their new trip boat.
The new trip boat is fully electric and can carry 12 visitors across the lake and was custom built for the trust.
The launching of the boat was marked with a ceremony on the dam head by the Royal British Legion and local vicar.
The Royal British legion were in attendance at the ceremony and held a moment of remembrance as part of a tribute to armed forces day.
The boat has been named Sunray in honour the trustee and ranger at the lake Ray Parry the official unveiling and Launching was done in a traditional manner with champagne by Geoff Buxton and Ray Parry.
Churnet Sound took part in the event by providing sound and background music.
Dunwood first responders attended the event and provided first aid training free of charge to visitors
