Three new Labour councillors in Biddulph elections
councillors David Proudlove, Nigel Yates and Charlotte Smith
Snow and ice may have made for a low turnout but Labour are celebrating today after having two candidates elected as councillors for Staffordshire Moorlands District council and a new Labour county councillor in the Biddulph by-election.
Formerly a district and town councillor for Biddulph Councillor Nigel Yates stormed ahead in the race for Biddulph North Ward of Staffordshire County Council receiving 931 votes. The turn out for this election was low at 19.2%

As Staffordshire moorlands district council was looking for two councillors for the biddulph west ward the Labour party’s two candidates were both elected. Formerly just a town councillor, Councillor Charlotte smith lead the race with 364 votes. Following her David Proudlove from the Labour Party was also elected with 288 votes. Again a low turn out with a turn out of 17.9%
