Town council announce return of food and drink festival

Congleton Town Council is thrilled to announce the much-anticipated return of the Congleton Food & Drink Festival on Sunday 8 June, from 10.30am-4.30pm. This exciting event marks a new chapter as the Town Council takes on the festival’s management, following 15 successful years under Congleton Community Projects, whose incredible work has made this annual event a highlight of the town’s cultural calendar.

With over 70 stalls, showcasing the best in local produce, delicious street food, and handcrafted drinks, the festival is filling up fast. Traders are urged to secure their spots now to be part of this vibrant event. Interested vendors can contact the Congleton Information Centre to book their place.

A Fresh Look for a Fresh Start! Be on the lookout for a brand-new festival logo as well as eye-catching posters and flyers going up around town soon! The festival’s website is currently undergoing a refresh, and all event details will be shared there soon. In the meantime, follow the Facebook page for the latest updates.

Rachel McCarthy, Town Centre and Events Officer, shared her enthusiasm for this year’s festival: “The Congleton Food & Drink Festival has always been a much-loved event, and we are delighted to be carrying forward its legacy. We’re working hard to ensure this year’s festival delivers an even more exciting experience for residents and visitors alike. From incredible food and drink to fantastic entertainment, there will be something for everyone. Save the date – you won’t want to miss it!”

A festival of this scale wouldn’t be possible without the dedicated team of volunteers who help keep things running smoothly. Those with a taste for volunteering are invited to help out on the day, from marshalling and litter picking to general event support, there are a variety of roles available for all ages and abilities. Whether you can contribute a little or a lot, joining the Town Council volunteer team is a fantastic way to get involved, meet new people, and give back to the community. To lend a hand, contact the town council or come along to the wider community events volunteer meeting on Tuesday 11 March from 6-8pm in the Town Hall.

Don’t miss out on this delicious day of fun and flavour. Keep an eye out for more festival details coming soon on the refreshed website: www.foodanddrinkfestival.net. Or contact the Congleton Information Centre on: 01260 270350, email: info@congleton-tc.gov.uk
